Sky Score

Hasbro announced a $10K winning prize to the toy inventor who can come up with a plastic action game that was fun, interactive and had a great tv moment.  Sky score was my entry into that challenge.

There were some clear guidelines Hasbro needed inventors to follow.  Plastic action game that was fun and engaging with a great visual for the commercial.  I did a round of brainstorming in order to come up with multiple ideas and flying discs catching on sticks came to me quickly.  My daughter and I had come up with a game we enjoyed where I would throw plastic rings in the air and she would catch them with a stick.  I pitched the idea to the partners at Big Monster Toys and immediately started researching the proper design for the disks.  I created numerous disc designs and tested them for their performance and ease of use.  Finally, I settled on a design that launched with ease and flew far.  I 3D printed two sets of launchers and flying discs for each player and filmed a game being played for a sizzle video.  The timeline was around two weeks and I was able to have Sky Score ready for presentation to Hasbro in time.
